Shacknews is posting that the next TF2 update hits August 19th. Complete with Maps, Game Mode, and Weapons

The largest update yet to Valve's online shooter Team Fortress 2 is set to go live next Tuesday, August 19, according to the developer.
The update will include seven fresh maps and a new game mode, in addition to new unlockable weapons and achievements for the Heavy class.
Valve plans to reveal each element of the patch--as well as a "special installment" to the "Meet the Team" video series--in a series of daily updates to its website.
The first announced map was revealed to be community-created level cp_steel (pictured above). Described as a "complex Attack/Defense control point map" by Valve, the arena was created by Jamie "Fishbus" Manson, and marks the first of six website reveals.
The mysteriously unannounced game mode will come supported with five Valve-crafted maps. A "new Payload map focusing on more open spaces than Goldrush" will also be released, according to Valve's Robin Walker.

...we've got a new game mode with five new arenas for it...
This might mean that it's one big map, with many areas inside it.

Oh god, there will be bullets everywhere. Might be a good time to work on my Medic achievements, though. I fucking suck at playing medic.
It's the only class I don't suck at.

Oh shit, those achievements are hilarious (no descriptions, just names so far). Valve are great at that.
Also, the main use I see for the KGB is with the shotgun. A kill with the gloves, quick change to shotgun and you might get a couple more kills. The minigun would only be useful if there are a bunch of enemies around, as it takes too long to get going.

Killing scouts, duh. :p
Edit: This is another copy & paste from EvAv:

New taunt, in which you eat a sandwich? If so, that would be awesome.

With so many fewer people playing Pyros, I can finally maybe catch up on unlocking all those juicy weapons.
Curiously, I've been playing Heavy a lot lately on account of the fact that a lot of teams I've been on - including a lot of EvAv ones - had none. I really enjoy it, especially getting into 2 or 3 vs. 1 fights where I'm the one with the fists :D
All these melee achievements must have you giddy, Lint.

If the effect isn't reduced by range and it works on ubered enemies(even if it doesn't do any damage) Natascha sounds pretty awesome to me.
i'm not sold yet, ill have to see how much it slows enemies down, if its only 25%, then it can be a useful tool for teamplay, but not so good at cleaning a room out. i dunno, i might end up loving it when i start to use it:)

oh also, the update says that it slows players if they take damage, so that would mean it doesn't have an effect on ubered players.... unless you read somewhere that it does.
i dunno, decreased damage doesn't seem to fit into the "heavy" philosophy.
edit:the article says its good for taking out fleeing ememies, i dunno seems to me that most maps and gametypes, if an enemy is fleeing than you have already won the control point, fought off intelligence gatherers etc.... if they run away and heal than job well done for the moment. i would rather it would help against soldiers. it will hurt against pyros. now as it is, i can take out a pyro that gets the jump on me, and usually be at 25% or less health and burning, if i were to take a damage hit for my gun then i'm fried.

Damn, there goes slowing down the charging ubered pyro. One of the more annoying things is having a demo or soldier pop in and out from a corner to shoot a rocket at you. If the slow down enables me to kill those that'd be nice. The new gun seems like a better defensive tool(which is how I prefer to play heavy), slowing down enemies allowing soldiers or SGs to more easily kill them.

speaking as someone who plays heavy quite a bit...Natasha would be made of win as long as it has a faster spin-up time as well.
what will replace the shotgun?
Faster spin-up would most definitely help, especially against charging pyros.
