"DICE can't roll a good single player game"

DICE just... they just don't get what makes Halo 3 work.  To give them a hint, being able to see the onscreen action helps.  Bad Company is a game that throws particle and smoke around so much you can't see where you should be shooting... too bad the AI ignores it and shoots you.

Want to use cover to try and flank AI that is distracted?  Fuck you, they don't lose track of you.  Oh and when you get hit, the screen shakes violently and goes red, so you are unable to kill the guy shooting you.

The levels are large and open, but play linear.

The largest failing of the single player is that you have 3 partners at almost all times and there is no co-op, the game screams for co-op.. the narrarator Preston is also a strange mix between being a silent hero and Paul Walker... he is just... boring.

The graphics are great, as is the sound, the game has some accoustic modeling so sounds are different indoors and based on the enviroment, it's fairly awesome.  The destrucible enviroment is fairly cool, but it's not all the way destructive and buildings can never be taken down, they always have a framework remain.

Vehicles control kind of stiff and the controls are odd... the left trigger is gas instead of the right trigger.

The shooting also feels odd, the weapon models look a bit too big to me.. the whole game just reminds me of how much cooler Call of Duty 4 is.

A fair review. I keep trying to like BF:BC, but it just doesn't feel right.
